What's new at Birdie: November 2024

November 26, 2024
Table of contents

Autumn is in full swing, and we hope you’re enjoying the crisp November days! Our latest features are here to bring a touch of warmth to your Birdie experience. Take a look at the exciting updates we’ve been working on below.

Basic information page

We've redesigned the 'About Me' profile to improve how you access and manage client information. The profile is now split into two distinct pages: Basic Information and Client Information. Here's what's new:

  • Basic Information: Focused on the essentials, this page will house key client details like Personal details, Contact details, Primary address, and Highlights. Under Primary address, you can also record additional addresses.
  • Client Information: This page covers more comprehensive details, including Personal identity, Clinical details, Key contacts, Future planning, and Agency admin.

All data already recorded in About Me will remain, but will instead be located across the two new pages. The ‘About Me’ section in the carer app will also be renamed to ‘Client Information’, but how carers access the information will remain unchanged.

This change means faster navigation and simpler updates, helping you quickly access and manage specific client details. Check out the help article here to learn more.

Access stopped medication schedule information

You can now track client medication history by viewing information about stopped medication schedules. This addition provides you easier access to historical medication details for better record-keeping and client care.

The above updates are available to all packages that use Birdie's Care Management software.

Invoice cycles

We've simplified invoice generation with our new Invoice Cycles feature! This update introduces recurring periods and a new Invoice cycles dashboard to streamline billing, reduce manual tasks, minimise errors - all helping to save your finance teams valuable admin time. After you set billing cycles for recurring weekly, 2-weekly, 4-weekly, or monthly periods, you can then generate invoices by cycle.

To benefit from Invoice Cycles, you first need to:

  • Create your invoice cycle(s) in the new Invoice Cycles tab
  • Link all active contracts to their relevant invoice cycle with a bulk assignment tool

While invoice generation by manual date selection remains an option, we recommend setting up invoice cycles to benefit from future invoicing improvements. Learn more about how you can set up and use invoice cycles here.

Invoice cycles is available to all packages using Finance.

Limited beta: GP Connect Integration

We're excited to announce the limited beta launch of our GP Connect integration! This integration will bring real-time client medical records directly into the Birdie platform, revolutionising how your teams access and manage client health information.

GP Connect will be available to all packages for providers who meet the following criteria:

  • You will need to sign the National Data Sharing Agreement for GP Connect, and confirm NHS approval of your submission
  • You will need to provide the names and email addresses of the Registered Manager, plus any clinical and nominated non-clinical staff who would like to have access to GP Connect

Stayed tuned for more updates on this exciting feature!
